Post Four - April 28, 2009

Well gee, I guess I just threw my 'try and write everyday' theory out the window.

I'm failing math. This is of little relevance to you, but it's just a statement before my next rant. Why do schools hire substandard teachers? I recognize that - occasionally - it may be difficult to find someone, but they hire and keep terrible teachers. Consistently, through grade school, I maintained an above 80 average. Here, I'm in the 60's. I'll admit, the courses have gotten harder, but part of the blame falls on the shoulders of the administration.

My academic science teacher was a grade 9 boy's gym teacher. I want to go to University, become a teacher, yet I have a teacher incapable of teaching the simplest material. I really do mean that, after every test we all sat down, and went through what he'd gotten wrong on it. With him.

Needless to say, I failed science, and am now retaking it with a competent teacher. I'm getting 80's. Wonder why?

Currently, I'm in Math. The funny thing is, at least the science teacher would admit that his knowledge was lacking, whereas this new teacher thinks she's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Honestly, she's a nice enough person, but you'd think she discover "e=mc^2" with how she goes on about herself (or, at least, how smart she is.) My father is an engineer, and my step-father has a PhD in physics. I brought home a test, and it stumped them. My mum knows nothing about math, so it's pretty useless showing her anything. Yet, she still gets on my case.

I mean, I know I'm failing, and by no means do I enjoy it - but what can I do? I go to her for extra help, and assistance, but she's incapable!

Really, anyone who's ever had an incompetent teacher, rise up and rebel!
